New Hampton Technologies, LLC ("NHT," "we," "us," or "our"), doing business as ROADLOK, stands behind the quality and craftsmanship of its products. This Limited Lifetime Warranty reflects our confidence in the engineering and manufacturing standards applied to every ROADLOK lock we produce. All warranty claims are evaluated individually, and we are committed to working with our customers in good faith to resolve legitimate manufacturing defects.

This warranty is provided to the original end-user purchaser ("Warranty Holder") of a ROADLOK product purchased from NHT directly or from an authorized ROADLOK dealer or reseller. It is not transferable.

1. Coverage: lock body (limited lifetime warranty)

The ROADLOK lock body (the primary machined mounting body, excluding the lock cylinder, BrakeBolt locking pin, keys, mounting hardware, and any consumable or maintenance components) is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original Warranty Holder, subject to the exclusions, conditions, and limitations set forth in this document.

What constitutes a covered manufacturing defect:

A manufacturing defect is a condition that arises from a failure in the materials or workmanship applied during production by NHT, and that prevents the product from functioning as intended under normal use conditions. Examples include:

  • Structural failure of the machined lock body under normal operating conditions not caused by external force, impact, or accident
  • Material defects present at the time of manufacture that cause premature failure
  • Dimensional or tolerance errors in manufacturing that prevent correct installation or operation on a confirmed-compatible motorcycle
  • Defects in surface finishing or anodizing that affect the functional integrity of the product

The lifetime warranty on the lock body is NHT’s commitment to the quality of its core manufactured product. It does not imply an obligation to replace or repair products that have failed due to causes outside of NHT’s manufacturing process.

2. Coverage: BrakeBolt locking pin (limited lifetime warranty)

The ROADLOK BrakeBolt locking pin is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original Warranty Holder, under the same general terms and conditions applicable to the lock body set forth in Section 1.

The BrakeBolt is designed to be carried separately from the motorcycle when not in use. While the BrakeBolt is engineered to perform reliably under the demands of regular outdoor use, it is not intended to remain in the lock or to be left exposed to the elements for extended or indefinite periods without appropriate care. The Warranty Holder is responsible for maintaining and storing the BrakeBolt in a manner consistent with NHT’s product care guidelines.

Maintenance and care requirement:

Warranty coverage on the BrakeBolt is subject to the Warranty Holder exercising reasonable care, including appropriate storage, periodic cleaning, and avoidance of conditions likely to cause accelerated degradation. Damage or failure attributable to neglect, improper storage, or prolonged unprotected exposure to corrosive or harsh environmental conditions will not be covered under this warranty.

BrakeBolt failure resulting from corrosion, contamination, or degradation attributable to failure to follow reasonable care and storage practices will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be covered only at NHT’s sole discretion.

3. Coverage: mounting hardware (limited lifetime warranty)

ROADLOK mounting hardware, including the corrosion-resistant mounting bolts and spacers supplied with the ROADLOK system, is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original Warranty Holder.

ROADLOK mounting hardware is manufactured to resist corrosion under normal operating conditions. A defect in materials or workmanship that causes hardware failure under normal use will be covered under this warranty. Hardware that has been modified, subjected to improper torque, used with incompatible components, or damaged by external forces is not covered.

As with all ROADLOK system components, mounting hardware should be inspected periodically during routine brake servicing. When replacement is required, only genuine ROADLOK replacement hardware should be used.

4. Coverage: keys (limited lifetime warranty)

ROADLOK keys are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original Warranty Holder. ROADLOK keys are precision-manufactured components and, when used as intended, should not fail under normal operating conditions.

User error and misuse exclusions:

Key damage resulting from misuse, user error, or improper handling is expressly excluded from this warranty. This includes, without limitation:

  • Breakage caused by applying excessive force to the key
  • Breakage or damage caused by attempting to turn the key before it is fully and correctly seated in the cylinder
  • Damage caused by attempting to operate the lock with an incorrect key
  • Bending, warping, or other deformation caused by improper handling or storage

ROADLOK keys are engineered to operate with minimal resistance when properly inserted and aligned. Force should never be required to turn a correctly and fully inserted key. Damage arising from the application of force inconsistent with normal key operation will not be covered under this warranty. Claims for key damage that are not clearly attributable to a manufacturing defect will be evaluated at NHT’s sole discretion.

5. Coverage: lock cylinder (2-year limited warranty)

The ROADLOK lock cylinder is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of original purchase by the Warranty Holder.

Because the lock cylinder is permanently mounted to the motorcycle and is exposed to outdoor environmental conditions, including moisture, road debris, temperature extremes, salt, and contaminants, the cylinder requires routine care and maintenance in order for this warranty to remain valid. The 2-year warranty period applies regardless of whether the product changes hands; it runs from the date of the original purchase only and does not reset upon resale or transfer.

Maintenance requirement:

To maintain warranty coverage on the lock cylinder, the Warranty Holder must perform reasonable and routine maintenance, including periodic cleaning and lubrication of the cylinder using an appropriate dry lubricant (such as a graphite-based lubricant), as described in ROADLOK’s Lock Cylinder: Care, Troubleshooting and Replacement guide at roadlok.com/documentation. Failure to maintain the cylinder in accordance with NHT’s care guidelines may result in warranty coverage being denied or reduced.

Cylinder failure resulting from corrosion, contamination, seizure, or degradation attributable to lack of maintenance, neglect, or prolonged exposure to harsh environments without appropriate care will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and will be covered only at NHT’s sole discretion.

6. What is not covered

This warranty does not cover, and NHT shall have no obligation with respect to, any of the following:

6.1 General exclusions

  • Normal wear and tear resulting from regular use, including surface scratches, scuffs, or cosmetic deterioration arising from exposure to weather, road grime, rocks, or other environmental conditions
  • Damage caused by accident, collision, or impact
  • Damage caused by improper installation, including failure to follow NHT’s installation instructions or use of incorrect hardware or spacers
  • Damage resulting from modification, alteration, or disassembly of the product by anyone other than NHT or its authorized service agents
  • Damage caused by use of the product on a motorcycle for which it is not specified as compatible
  • Damage caused by use of non-genuine ROADLOK replacement parts
  • Damage caused by improper storage or transport of the product
  • Damage caused by chemical exposure, including harsh cleaning agents, brake fluid contact, or other corrosive substances
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect the functional operation of the product
  • The dust plug, the rubber lock cylinder cap and the lanyard, which are maintenance items

6.2 UV exposure and finish color change

Changes in surface color or anodized finish resulting from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light or direct sunlight are not covered under this warranty after a period of two (2) years from the date of original purchase. Anodized aluminum surfaces may, under conditions of extended or intense UV exposure, exhibit gradual color change over time; this is a characteristic inherent to the material under such conditions and does not constitute a manufacturing defect. Within the first two (2) years from the date of original purchase, color change that NHT determines to be directly attributable to a defect in the anodizing process will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

6.3 Theft-related damage

Damage resulting from an attempted or completed theft, including but not limited to damage from cutting tools, grinders, hammers, pry bars, drilling, or any other forced attack on any component of the ROADLOK system, is expressly excluded from warranty coverage. ROADLOK products are engineered to resist attack; however, damage sustained during such an event is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered under this warranty.

6.4 Misuse and user error

This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from misuse, abuse, or user error, including but not limited to:

  • Riding, or attempting to ride, the motorcycle with the BrakeBolt in the lock
  • Forcing the lock mechanism or key
  • Failure to follow the installation, locking, unlocking, and maintenance procedures described in NHT’s product documentation
  • Use of any component in a manner inconsistent with its intended design and purpose
  • Failure to store or maintain components in accordance with NHT’s care guidelines

6.5 Consequential and incidental damage

NHT is not responsible for any consequential, incidental, indirect, or special damages arising from a defect in, or the failure of, a ROADLOK product, including but not limited to damage to the motorcycle or its components, loss of use, or costs associated with the theft of a motorcycle.

7. Transferability and used product purchases

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original end-user purchaser of a ROADLOK product. It does not extend to subsequent owners, whether acquired through private sale, resale, auction, or any other means.

ROADLOK products purchased from unauthorized resellers, marketplaces, or private sellers are not covered under this warranty. NHT cannot verify the condition, installation history, or maintenance history of products not sold through authorized channels, and as such cannot assume warranty responsibility for such products.

The 2-year lock cylinder warranty period and the 2-year UV and finish color coverage limitation set forth in Section 6.2 each run from the date of original purchase and do not reset, extend, or transfer upon resale or change of ownership.

8. How to make a warranty claim

To submit a warranty claim, the Warranty Holder must:

  • Email NHT at support@roadlok.com to initiate a claim
  • Provide proof of purchase, including the date of purchase, the authorized dealer or retailer from which the product was purchased, and the specific product purchased
  • Provide a description of the claimed defect and, where possible, photographic evidence
  • Ship the product or component to NHT or its designated service facility as directed, at the Warranty Holder’s expense, unless otherwise agreed by NHT

NHT will evaluate each claim individually and in good faith. We reserve the right to inspect the returned product or component prior to making a warranty determination. NHT’s decision with respect to whether a claim falls within the scope of this warranty is final.

Service fees may apply for warranty evaluation, handling, or repair, including return shipping costs. NHT will advise the Warranty Holder of any applicable fees prior to proceeding with service.

9. Warranty remedies

If NHT determines that a valid warranty claim has been submitted and the defect is covered under this warranty, NHT will, at its sole discretion, elect one of the following remedies:

  • Repair the defective product or component
  • Replace the defective product or component with the same or a functionally equivalent product
  • Issue a credit toward the purchase of a replacement product or component

Replacement products or components may be new or factory-reconditioned. The warranty on a replaced product or component will run for the remainder of the original warranty period applicable to the defective item, or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement, whichever is longer.

NHT’s liability under this warranty is limited to the remedies described above. In no event shall NHT’s liability exceed the original purchase price paid for the defective product.

10. Implied warranties

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY FOR THE COMPONENT CONCERNED. Some States do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NHT’S TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT. NHT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY KIND. Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.

If you bought your ROADLOK in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with statutory consumer guarantees, this warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, including the legal guarantee of conformity owed by the seller, and does not affect them.

12. General provisions

12.1 Governing law

This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. This does not remove any protection a consumer has under the mandatory law of the country where the consumer lives.

12.2 Severability

If any provision of this warranty is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

12.3 No waiver

Failure by NHT to enforce any provision of this warranty shall not constitute a waiver of NHT’s right to enforce such provision or any other provision in the future.

12.4 Amendment

NHT reserves the right to amend or update this warranty policy at any time. The version of this warranty in effect at the time of purchase applies to the Warranty Holder’s claim.
