The lock body is held to the top of the radial mounted brake caliper by replacing the factory bolts with longer bolts supplied in the XRA kit. The spacers are used between the lock and the brake caliper to adjust the alignment of the BrakeBolt to the rotor hole.

You can check if an XRA fits by looking at your front caliper and confirm it is radial.  The bolts that hold a radial caliper are threaded into the fork at an angle perpendicular to the axle. The bolts are at the TOP and BOTTOM of the caliper for added strength - this is where all calipers are going in future models. 

This is the same motorcycle as previously pictured, but one model year older. As you can see, the front caliper DOES NOT have radial calipers. The mounting bolts are threaded parallel to the axle and are at the TOP of the caliper only. Calipers that are mounted like this are called "Axial" and are going out of style. The ROADLOK XRA series locks will not fit this style of caliper.

The XRA Eurosport is made to work on BREMBO radial mount calipers. The mounting bolts are spaced 100 mm apart and are holding the caliper at the TOP and the BOTTOM. The XRA Eurosport fits nearly all motorcycles with a caliper that looks like this. Brembo only makes a 100mm radial caliper EXCEPT for a run of 108mm calipers that is used on the newest Suzuki GSXR motorcycle. You can tell the difference, because the Suzuki IS NOT a European motorcycle.  The best way to be sure - measure the distance between the mounting bolts (center to center). The XRA Japansport fits motorcycles that use NISSIN and TOKICO radial mount calipers which are found mostly on Japanese bikes. The mounting bolts are 108mm apart and hold the caliper at the TOP and the BOTTOM.  There are also some unbranded calipers that have this 108mm bolt spacing, and a few models of Triumph motorcycles that use Nissin calipers - this is the correct lock.  Again, the most most important thing is the bolt spacing! The XRA Japansport 130 fits the Yamaha R1 and the Yamaha VMax that use the radial mounted 6 piston caliper. The mounting bolts are 130mm apart and hold the caliper at the TOP and BOTTOM. There are three small circles on the caliper where a name would be, signifying 3 of the 6 pistons in the caliper. PLEASE NOTE: Some older models of the R1 use a non-branded caliper with only 2 of those small circles, meaning that the caliper is a 108mm caliper that requires the XRA Japansport.
